Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about AwayDay Planner and The 92 Challenge.
Getting Started
What is AwayDay Planner? +
AwayDay Planner is a free tool for football fans who want to track their visits to all 92 English football league grounds β a challenge known as "The 92". You can log visits, plan future trips, read and write reviews, connect with other fans, and track your progress from Newcomer all the way to The 92 Legend.
What is The 92 Challenge? +
The 92 Challenge is the goal of watching a game at every ground currently used by Premier League and English Football League clubs β 20 Premier League, 24 Championship, 24 League One and 24 League Two grounds. Completing the 92 is considered the ultimate away day achievement for a travelling football fan.
Is it free to use? +
Yes β AwayDay Planner is completely free. Create an account, start logging visits and use all the features at no cost.
Do I need to have attended a match to mark a stadium as visited? +
That's entirely up to you. The traditional 92 Club requires you to have watched a competitive match at each ground, but on AwayDay Planner you can log visits however you choose. We're here to help you track your journey your way.
Tracking & Visits
Can I log visits to the same stadium more than once? +
Yes. Your first visit counts toward your 92 total. Any return visits are logged separately in your visit history, and the stadium button shows how many times you've been (e.g. β Visited 3Γ). Your lifetime total visit count across all grounds is shown on your profile.
Can I backdate a visit? +
Yes β when marking a stadium as visited there's a date picker with no minimum date, so you can log visits from years ago. Just pick the date you actually went.
What if a club gets promoted or relegated and their ground changes? +
We update the stadium database when clubs move divisions. Your existing visits are never removed β if a club you've visited drops out of the 92, your visit stays on record and counts toward your total history, but the 92 counter reflects the current Football League membership.
Groundhopper Score
What is the Groundhopper Score? +
Your Groundhopper Score is a single number that reflects your overall activity on AwayDay Planner β not just how many grounds you've visited, but how engaged you are with the community. It rewards a range of activities so there's always something to work toward.
How is the Groundhopper Score calculated? +
The formula is: Visits Γ 10 + Reviews Γ 5 + Trips planned Γ 3 + Check-ins Γ 2 + Followers Γ 1. So visiting 10 grounds scores 100 points. Writing 5 reviews adds another 25. Planning trips, checking in at grounds and building a following all contribute too.
What are the Groundhopper Score titles? +
There are six titles based on your score: Newcomer (0β49), Ground Explorer (50β149), Away Day Fan (150β299), Groundhopper (300β499), Super Groundhopper (500β999), and The 92 Legend (1000+). Your current title is shown on your profile.
Trip Planner
Can I plan trips with friends? +
Yes. On any trip detail page you can invite other AwayDay users by their username. Collaborators can view and edit the trip, and it appears in their planner too. The trip owner can remove collaborators at any time.
Can I share a trip with someone who isn't registered? +
Yes β every trip has a unique shareable link. Public trips are viewable by anyone with the link. Private trips require the token in the URL to view. Toggle between public and private on the trip detail page.
What does the cost estimator do? +
The cost estimator on each trip detail page lets you predict your spend before you go. Enter your miles, transport type (car, train or coach), ticket price, food budget and parking cost, and it calculates a per-person total. For car journeys it estimates fuel cost based on average MPG and fuel prices.
Community Features
What is the Activity Feed? +
The Activity Feed (/activity/) shows a timeline of what other AwayDay users have been doing β visits, reviews, planned trips, check-ins and forum posts. You can filter by Everyone or just people you Follow, and by activity type.
How do notifications work? +
You receive a notification when someone follows you, invites you to a trip, or replies to one of your forum threads. Notifications appear in the bell icon in the bottom-right corner of every page, and on the Notifications page.
What is a Check-in? +
A check-in lets you announce that you're at a stadium right now. It shows on the stadium page under "Who's Here Today" for 24 hours and appears in the activity feed. You can add a short message β great for letting others know the atmosphere or score.
How do I report inappropriate content? +
Any logged-in user can report reviews, photos, venues, creators, profiles or forum posts using the π© report button. Reports go to our moderation team who review and take action. If you see something that shouldn't be there, please report it.
Technical
Can I install AwayDay Planner as an app? +
Yes β AwayDay Planner is a Progressive Web App (PWA). When you visit the site on your phone or desktop you'll see an "Install AwayDay Planner" prompt. Tap Install and it adds to your home screen or app drawer, working like a native app including some offline functionality.
Is my data private? +
You control your privacy. From your Settings page you can hide your profile from the leaderboard, set trips as private, and control what others can see. Your email address is never shown publicly. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
