Club History
Founded in 1880 as St Mark's (West Gorton), Manchester City have gone through many transformations. Taken over by Sheikh Mansour in 2008, City have been transformed into one of world football's superclubs. Under Pep Guardiola they became the first English club to win a domestic treble (2019) and the first to win back-to-back-to-back Premier League titles. Their 2023 treble — including the Champions League — is arguably the greatest achievement in English football history.
