Club History
Sheffield United were founded in 1889 as an offshoot of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, which explains why Bramall Lane also hosted cricket until 1973. The club has won the league title once (1898) and the FA Cup once (1925). They have spent much of their recent history in the Championship but had successful Premier League stints in 2006–07 and 2019–22. Bramall Lane, opened in 1855, is the world's oldest professional football ground still in use.
