Club History
Founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks, West Ham are known as the Academy of Football — Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, three of England's 1966 World Cup heroes, all came through the club. The move from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium in 2016 was controversial but increased capacity significantly. The club has won three FA Cups and reached the Europa Conference League final in 2023, their best European performance since the 1976 Cup Winners' Cup final.
